Employers can take advantage of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) incentive offered through the Workforce Innovative Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. This program is designed to help employers reduce the overhead expenses associated with training a new employee. Employers participating in the OJT program will receive financial reimbursement of up to $3,600 to compensate for the loss of production and other training costs that are incurred in the process. Employers can structure their own specific training plan to help the new employee learn the skills necessary to be self-sufficient and successful in the job. 
OJT restrictions:
• The OJT position must be a regular, permanent position with a minimum of 32 hours per week
• Only hours worked on the job will be reimbursed
• Employers cannot layoff and replace a current employee with an OJT new employee hire
